Samsung Galaxy Note and Tab Pro 8.4, 10.1 and 12.2 announced at CES 2014

It seem that the CES 2014 is not a good day for Samsung’s competitors. The company has announced series tablets with each boasting some serious specification boost and features. The tablets line include Samsung Galaxy TabPRO 8.4, Tab PRO 10.1, TabPRO 12.2 and  Galaxy Note PRO 12.2 breaking the 10.1 line.  All of them  share very similar form factor in design  as well as specs and features. Let’s take a peak at its features and specifications one by one.

Samsung Galaxy Note Pro 12.2

The device is yet another model of its flagship Galaxy Note series but this time comes with huge 12.2 inch Super Clear LCD display with WQXGA resolution (2,560 x 1,600 pixels). Samsung has kept the unique features of its Galaxy Note  with this one too, the S Pen functionality making it a unique 12.2 inch device from its kind out there.

Samsung has learned from its past and this time the company has kept its leather stitching to these devices, giving a uniformity and premium finish in design and look.

Internally, the Samsung Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 is powered by a Snapdragon 800 chipset or an Exynos 5 Octa and  will be running on Android 4.4 KitKat right out of the box. The Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 has 3GB of RAM,  8MP camera with 1080p @ 60fps video capture and a juicy 9,500mAh  battery. The tablet will be available in two variants, which include 32 GB and 64 GB  and you are not stuck with the built-in memory as the device also features microSD card slot.

Samsung has added some extra features too making the Galaxy Note 12.2 an ultimate mobile device. Now you can connect Note with your PC with RemotePC feature and control the devices  either way, Note from computer  or computer from Note 12.2. Other features and accessories include Universal BT Keyboard and the S Action Mouse as well as USB LAN hub and the Book Covers.

The software used on the Galaxy Note 12.2 is KitKat, but its UI has got some extra touch with new tablet-oriented user interface called Magazine UX and  has a magazine style. The UI offers a tiled layout called “dashboard”  that lets categorize your favorite apps and news feeds.

The tablet will be shipped with a bunch of pre-loaded apps that include Bitcasa, Blurb, Cisco WebEx Meetings, Dropbox, Easilydo Pro for Tablet, Hancom Office for Android, Evernote, LinkedIn, LIVESPORT.TV, NY Times, Bloomberg Businessweek+, Oxford Advanced Learner’s A-Z, and Sketchbook Pro. The Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 is expected to ship this quarter in white and black.

Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4, Tab Pro 10.1 and Tab Pro 12.2

These new tablets feature impressive specs under the  hood as well as stylish and premium look. Basically each one of them shares very similar specs, despite the variation in memory on board, battery capacity and size.

Start with the Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 12.2, identical to the Galaxy Note Pro 12.2, except the S Pen part. The device boasts same 12.2″ WQXGA display  and is powered by Snapdragon 800 or Exynos 5 Octa chipset  and 3GB of RAM. The tablet has 8MP camera on the back with same 080p @ 60fps video capturing capabi9lity and will be offered in two versions of storage 32GB and 64GB with microSD card slot. Even the battery is exactly the same as the galaxy Note, 12.2, 9,500mAh.

Up next is the Galaxy Note 10.1 sporting 10.1 inch Super Clear LCD display with  2,560 x 1,600 resolution. The device is certainly lighter  and smaller than the 12.2 inch, you guessed it right?. Well , the tablet doesn’t have same memory, this time the Galaxy Tab Pro 10.1 only has 2GB of RAM and will come with 16 and 32GB storage options and microSD card slot to further the storage. The tablet packs a slightly smaller battery at 8,220mAh.

Interestingly, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.4 also keeps the resolution intact, 2,560 x 1,600  despite the smaller Super Clear LCD screen display. Other features are almost same except for the smaller 4800mAh battery. The device also features 8MP and 2MP rear and front-facing cameras.

The these tablets will be available in both 3G and 4G. Unfortunately Samsung hasn’t announced the pricing and release date for the new Galaxy Pro series, but release date is set to Q1 2014. So that is all about new Galaxy Pro series, now  check out the gallery and hands-on video below.
