Alcatel Idol 2, Idol 2 Mini & OneTouch Pop Fit unveiled; Specs and Price

Even though there are hours left for MWC to kick off, Alcatel didn’t want to wait for that and has unveiled a trio of smartphones. The new range includes Idol 2, Idol 2 Mini and OneTouch Pop Fit. The first two are our usual smartphone while the later one is wearable smartphone. And in terms of specs, they range from low to mind-end.

The Alcatel Idol 2 comes with a 5.0-inch 720p IPS display and packs a 1.2GHz quad-core processor. The smartphone also has a 8 MP rear camera and 1.3MP front-facing camera as well as NFC and LTE for connectivity. The smartphone has 7.3mm thickness and  is priced at €199 and €249 for the 3G and 4G models, respectively. The smartphone will be running on Android  4.3 Jelly Bean right out of the box, but upgradable to KitKat.

Next up is the Alcatel Idol 2 mini, for those who don’t want bulky devices but smartphone is not too small either. The Idol 2 mini features a 4.5-inch qHD display, that is a modest size. The device is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core processor and sports an 8 MP rear camera, 2 MP front-facing camera. In terms of connectivity, the device has the same  NFC and LTE support while the device running on Android 4.3 (upgradable to 4.4). The body is 8.5mm thick. just like its bigger brother, the device will be available in 3G and 4G flavors priced at €169 and €209  respectively.

Last but not least, device with vague name Alcatel OneTouch Pop Fit , a wearable smartphone boasting a 2.8-inch tiny QVGA display display. The device is powered by a  1GHz dual-core MediaTek processor coupled with 512MB RAM. The smartphone will be available in two flavors of storage, 16 and 32GB and packs a 1,000mAh battery.

The phone will also be offered  with some accessories five back covers in black, blue, pink, yellow and red, semi-transparent flip cover, armband case and JBL earphones.  The base model of the OneTouch Pop Fit is priced at at €89.
