It seems that the Asus is  so fond of its PadFone, the hybrid smartphone/tablet device. The company has announced yet another Android PadFone Infinity but this time it is Lite, known as Asus PadFone Infinity Lite. As the name suggests, the new PadFone is slightly lower specked to its predecessor PadFone Infinity 2.

The Asus PadFone Infinity Lite packs Snapdragon 600 chipset with 1.7GHz quad-core CPU unlike its bigger brother which comes witheven powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 SoC. The smartphone sports 5” 1080p display, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of built-in memory and 13 MP camera on the rear side which should shoot at 1080p. The smartphone packs a 2,400mAh battery.

The tablet dock on the other hand offers a 10.1” 1080 IPS display and  5,000mAh battery. Strangely, the smartphone is listed as running on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, but there is still time for its release and it may finally come to the market with latest Android 4.4 KitKat.

Release date of the PadFone Infinity Lite is somewhere in March  and priced at 13,990 TWD (about $463). The tablet docking station  will set you back an extra 7,000 TWD (about $230). Recently Asus also added new version of PadFone dubbed PadFone E with even smaller display.
