Garmin, the company behind several GPS products has introduced new multisport watch. The second generation of its kind in its series is coming with many advanced features. The watch dubbed Garmin Fenix 2 is specially designed for adventurers and sporting enthusiasts and offers built-in GPS technology and updated user interface.
Garmin Fenix 2 boasts of its ruggedness and is built with a scratch-resistant, curved mineral glass lens, and has a water rating of 50 m. The device has ability to store 10,000 track points and up to 1000 waypoints and is able to leave digital breadcrumbs so that you don’t need to remember the way back from your adventure. The device can also share the information with other Garmin devices.
The Fenix 2 is also coming with multisport functionality which supports running, climbing, riding, hiking, skiing, and swimming and also able to deliver real time feedback on progress. The watch is capable to estimate the use of V02 max for runners to measure fitness levels and assess over time. The Garmin Fenix 2 supports a HRM-run heart rate monitor and Bluetooth smart capability that lets you share workout data with Garmin online community via Garmin Connect Mobile app installed on your smartphone. The watch can also measure parameters for skiers such as horizontal distance and vertical drop.
Moreover, the Fenix 2 comes with built-in sensors like altimeter, barometer, and a 3-axis compass. The device comes preloaded with sun/moon info, a hunt/fish calendar and is able to display several time zones at once.The watch has a battery good for up to 50 hours in GPS mode and five weeks in watch mode in a single charge.
The Garmin Fenix 2 release date is set to march and priced at not that cheap $399.99 or you can have the watch with HRM-Run monitor for pa rice of $449.99.
