Mid-end HTC Desire 816 Phablet & 610 phone announced; releasing in April
HTC’s press event has started at MWC and taken the wrap off couple of Android smartphone one which was previously spotted as HTC Desire 8, its actual name is Desire 816 though and the second one is Desire 610 and both are mid-end smartphones with moderate specs and the Desire 610 is relatively compact too.
HTC Desire 816
The smartphone measuring at 156.6 x 78.7 x 7.99mm and weighs 165g looks a lot like HTC‘s flagship Android device HTC One. The device is actually a phablet aimed at those who want one at a competitive price. Nowadays many consumers prefer huge devices like Galaxy Note and this is certainly an alternative to consider if you are looking for a phablet with relatively decent specs inside and neat design.
The HTC Desire 816 sports a a 5.5” screen with a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels, means you get an HD display, not full HD though. The smartphone is built around a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor with a 1.6GHz quad-core CPU and Adreno 305 GPU and packs 1.5GB of RAM that will make sure smoother multi-tasking and 8GB of internal storage, which can be expanded via microSD card.
The phablet also has a 13MP camera on the back and a 5MP front camera for video call and quality of selfies. In terms of connectivity, the HTC Desire 816 has GSM/GPRS/EDGE and WCDMA/HSPA+/4G LTE as well as Bluetooth 4.0 and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n with Wi-Fi Direct.
The smartphone packs a 2600mAh battery and will come with Sense 5.5 right out of the box. The device will be available in black, white, orange, mild green, dark blue and grey colors and the release date is set to April. Unfortunately no word on its pricing, but expect it to be available for relatively affordable price.
HTC Desire 610
The device is as I early mentioned a mid and compact smartphone with 4.7-inch qHD display. The smartphone is powered by a 1.2 GHz Snapdragon 400 Krait processor and 1GB of RAM. Desire 610 comes with 8GB of internal memory plus microSD card slot up to 64GB.
The device also sports an 8 MP rear camera with LED flash and a 1.3 MP front facing shooter and will come with range of connectivity features including 4G LTE support. The smartphone packs a 2,040mAh battery.
