Shimano CM-1000 Sports Camera with 16MP sensor; Specs and Price

When it comes to action cameras,  very well-known name is GoPro, but here is yet another action camera but this time from Shimano, akin to GoPro, the new camera dubbed Shimano CM-1000 Sports Camera is coming with rugged features  to meet the some sporty needs, with sturdy and durable casing.

The camera is completely waterproof  and it can stay under water as much as ten meters. The camera is also dust-proof and relatively light weight and should be easy to  carry the cam clipped on your helmet. The camera has a memory card and 950mAh battery which is expected to last a couple hours.

As far as specification is concerned, the Shimano CM-1000 Sports Camera is coming with a 16-megapixel back-illuminated CMOS sensor that offers three mode of recording, 640 x 360 @240fps, 1280 x 720 @120fps, and 1920 x 1080 @30fps speed and will store the video in  MPEG4/H.264 format. The camera has no internal memory, but it supports up to 32GB microSD card. The camera also features a wide-angle lens with a maximum f / 2.0 aperture, and records in 135-degree and 180-degree. For connectivity, the device has WiFi and ANT+ allowing easy sharing between mobile devices.

The interface of the camera has some buttons and LEDs accompanied by acoustic signals that gives a hint on what you are doing. The camera will be offered with several accessories which users need for  shooting videos in such a sporting environment.

The Shimano CM-1000 Sports Camera carries a price tag of  $300 and release date is set to May 2014.
