Finally Nokia has uncovered the most anticipated WP8 smartphone for Verizon, the Lumia Icon aka Lumia 929. The smartphone which was leaked numerous times is coming with a high-end specs and features , on top of that, pretty neat design with stunning display. The smartphone is priced at $199.99, certainly on two-year contract.

The Nokia Lumia Icon is exclusive for Verizon and will be available in two colors. The phone has a unibody design with polycarbonate body and slight curve on the edge of  the back and resembles its predecessor Lumia 928. The smartphone has flat sides that can stand on its own and there are physical keys on the right side of the device including camera shutter.

The smartphone has 5-inch display unlike Lumia 1520 which shares almost similar spec to  the Lumia Icon  except for its  6-inch display and design. The Lumia Icon is powered by powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 SoC with 2.2GHz quad-core processor and sports a 5-inch super sensitive ClearBlack AMOLED display with Full HD 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution, 2 GB of RAM, 20 MP rear  and 2 MP front-facing cameras.

The primary unit on he back is capable of shooting videos at 1080p @ 30 fps and boasts Nokia’s proprietary PureView technology with 1/2.5” BSI sensor, f/2.4, OIS, and a dual-LED flash. The device is also capable of shooting scaled-down, high-quality images for easier sharing  while also keeping a 16MP copy. The smartphone also comes with a host of pre-loaded software to help you with imaging and editing, such as Nokia Camera, Creative Studio, Cinemagraph, etc.

On the software side, the smartphone certainly runs on latest Windows Phone OS with Lumia Black update. The Nokia Lumia Icon also comes with Microsoft office suite apart from ten Nokia’s own goodies. The devices Nokia Here maps, MixRadio, Nokia Beamer, and Drive+ navigation while Bing Weather and Bing apps are other Microsoft addition.

For connectivity, the device certainly has 4G LTE support  in addition to usual Wi-Fi a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, and USB 2.0. The smartphone also has FM Radio and uses  nano-SIM card. The device packs a 2,420mAh battery with Qi wireless charging capability.

Verizon Lumia Icon measures 137 x 71 x 9.8mm and weighs in 167 grams and the release date is set to February 20th. With the launching of the Lumia Icon, customers on Verizon also having a chance to experience the Lumia PureView technology which was previously exclusive to the AT&T. The smartphone is already on pre-order at Microsoft Store and get a free Nokia Wireless charger if you grab it by March 16th.
