Sharp launches Aquos Crystal and Crystal X in Japan, Sprint to offer in US

Sharp has several nice-looking devices within its border but they don’t make it to cross the border. It seems like that will change this time and Sprint is getting ready to launch its new and mouth-watering Android device in US as well. The Japanese company today announced its two new devices and one of them will be available on Sprint starting tomorrow. The devices are dubbed Aquos Crystal and Crystal X.The Crystal X is the robust of the two. Sprint has scheduled a media event for tomorrow, and the invite certainly depicts the device with crystal illustration and indicative caption “TAKE THE EDGE OFF”.

Both smartphones are nearly bezel-less and have a pretty slim form factor  and looks eye-catchy at the first glance with edge to edge display, not on just two sides, but three and incredibly thin bezel. And if you have thought this is a water-resistant, you are wrong and yea that is unfortunate as some of its devices are certainly water-resistant.

In terms of specs, the Sharp Aquos Crystal X is powered by a  2.3GHz Snapdragon 801 processor and 2GB of RAM. The device has Full HD 5.5-inch display, 32GB of internal storage and packs a pretty decent 2,610mAh battery. The smartphone measures  just 139 x 73 x 11mm, that is smaller than the 5.5″ LG G3.

On the other hand, the Sharp Aquos Crystal which will be available from Sprint is a mid-end device with same crystal design. The device is powered by a Snapdragon 400 with a quad-core 1.2GHz processor, 1.5GB of RAM, 8GB of storage and 2,040mAh battery.Moreover, the phone is built with a Harman Kardon sound effects engine which supports “Clari-Fi”. The Aquos Crystal is even smaller at 131 x 67 x 10mm. The device runs on Android 4.4.2.

Both will be released in Japan while Sharp Aquos Crystal release date in USA is set to August 29, and pre-orders  starting tomorrow.  Among other Android devices, the Sharp’s new device is certainly an exceptional one with such a thin or bezel-less and attractive design.
