Acer unveils Aspire R 13 and R 14 Convertible Laptops; price starts at $599
Acer has joined the party at IFA 2014 with its latest convertible notebooks dubbed Aspire R 13 and Aspire R14. The devices are highly user-friendly with different types of convertible form. For instance, the R 13 model comes with an Exel Aero hinge, bringing on a “U-frame structure” and offers 6 different modes ranging from usual laptop to tablet mode.
The model actually resembles Dell’s XPS convertible but here difference is that this one only has frame on bottom half of the display. The Acer R 13 mode includes standard Notebook Mode, Ezel Mode, Stand Mode, Pad Mode, Tent Mode and Display Mode and each one offers its own usability and ease for certain activity with the laptop.
The laptop is a 13-inch device offering either super high-resolution (WQHD) 2560 x 1440 or full high-definition 1920 x 1080. The laptop hinge lets you flips the screen thus offering different modes. And the notebook also supports input from an optional digital pen for writing, drawing, or hovering.
Spec-wise, R 13 will be offered with an Intel Core i5 or Core i7 processor, up to 8GB of RAM, and up to 1TB of solid state storage. And it will be released in October for a starting price of $599.
On the other hand, the Acer R 14 offers notebook, display, tent, and tablet modes and comes powered by Core i7 processor or Intel Pentium. The Acer R 14 has a 14 inch, 1366 x 76 pixel display.
