BlackBerry’s most anticipated smartphone, Passport is being released today and goes on sale in Canada first. The smartphone will be available from Canadian carrier  Telus. You can grab yours at $200 with two-year contract till October 1 and $250  after that.

The smartphone is also coming to US coast  and will be available from AT&T for the price of $250 with a two-year contract.If you don’t want to be tied up to the contract, you can get SIM-free unlocked version for the price of $599. This is a special offer for a limited period, the exact price for the BlackBerry Passport is $699.

Other countries that the BlackBerry launches its Passport include France, Germany, Singapore and the UK among other 30 countries. In the UK, unlocked Passport will be available for a price of £484.98.

The smartphone runs on BlackBerry OS 10.3 that debuts on the BlackBerry Passport first. In terms of specs, the phone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 SoC with a 2.2 GHz quad-core CPU and 3 GB of RAM. The blackberry device sports  4.5-inch 1,440×1,440 touchscreen, a 13 MP rear camera with LED flash, and a 2 MP front snapper. The smartphone packs a massive 3,450 mAh battery that will last up to 36 hours on single charge.

BlackBerry Passport is coming with entirely new QWERTY keyboard in a stylish squared casing. Despite wave of touchscreen devices, there are still those who like the BlackBerry’s QWERTY  and the company expects to get its lost-glory back with the device.
