CAT S50 rugged Smartphone with shatter-proof Glass announced; pricing $500
CAT has unveiled a new rugged Android phone dubbed CAT S50. The device with military-grade protection also offers shatter-proof screen glass that can withstand any severe situation.
CAT S50 sports a 4.7″ 720p display and comes powered by a quad-core 1.2GHz Cortex-A7 processor. Other specifications are an 8MP rear camera with 720p video capturing capability and LED flash, 8GB storage that can be expanded via microSD card slot and LTE connectivity. The CAT S50 runs on the latest Android 4.4 KitKat with no customization.
The CAT S50 is coming with two different protection ratings – IP67 and MIL-810G. If you don’t know what it means, the IP67 certification means the device is dust protected and water resistant up to 1 meter for 30 minutes, whereas the MIL-810G rating promises salt, dust, humidity, rain, vibration, solar radiation, transport and thermal shock resistance. You can’t require more protection right?
Furthermore, CAT S50 has got a proper shatter-proof front glass that will make sure better protection for your device and each S50 is covered in shock absorbent rubber . The device will also feature recently developed CAT App Store, which has 1000+ select apps which are most relevant to its users.
CAT S50 costs $500 in the USA and €479 in Europe and is already hitting the shelves in some parts of world. The smartphone will be available in different colors including Forest and Slate.
