HP Slate 17, an All-in-One Android Desktop Tablet; Specs and Price revealed

HP  seems to be set to launch its next addition to its Android line, but this time with a 17-inch display.  The device looks to be smaller version of its Slate 21 and Slate 21 Pro which sport 21-inch display and all-in-one desktop features.

Unlike the Slate 21 and 21 Pro that pack NVIDIA Tegra processor, the Slate 17  will come with Intel Celeron N2807 Bay Trail processor. The slate has appeared on HP’s Peru website and According to the info, the Slate 17 will be running on Android 4.4 KitKat.

In terms of specs, the HP Slate 17 sports a 17 inch full Hd touchscreen display, Beats Audio, 2GB of RAM and webcam that can shoot videos at 720p. For connectivity, the HP Slate 17 will have built-in 802,11a/b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0 as well as an HDMI port, a USB 2.0 port, and a memory card reader.

A video has also been spotted which shows two kickstand at the back one for using the device like a desktop and the other one on the top for using the device like tablet lying  back.

HP Slate 17 weighs in about 5.4 pounds with a built-in battery that can last up to 5 hours on a single charge so that you can carry the device around or use it like a tablet.

According to Mobile Geeks, The HP Slate 17 will be released in the US although an exact release date is not available. The HP Slate 17 is expected to carry a price tag of $470.
