HP to release Chromebook 11 and 14 with Intel and NVIDIA CPU; Specs and Price

HP is upgrading its Chrome OS laptops and there is no better privilege than IFA 2014 to announce it. As rumored, its new HP Chromebook 11 comes with a robust specs inside, thus an Intel Bay Trail processor instead of the Samsung Exynos 5 ARM-based chip used in HP’s previous 11.6″ model.

However, it doesn’t mean the company is completely moving from ARM chipset.  While major companies introducing their devices with Intel Haswell processor, HP is moving in other direction with its latest HP Chromebook 14.  Unlike its previous model,  the new HP Chromebook 14 packs an ARM-based chip with NVIDIA CPU.

Both Chromebooks come in different colors and  slim and light form factor.

HP Chromebook 11

The Chromebook 11 is the smaller of the two and in terms of specs, it sports an 11.6 inch, 1366 x 768 pixel display, an Intel Celeron N2830 processor, 2GB or 4GB of RAM, 16GB of storage, and up to 8 hours and 15 minutes battery life .

The new HP Chromebook 11 will come with a host of connectivity features that include 802.11ac or 802.11n WiFi, Bluetooth, and even optional 4G LTE and HSPA connectivity.

The Chromebook also features several ports, USB 3.0 and USB 2.0 ports, HDMI output, and a headphone jack. The laptop measures 11.8″ x 8.1″ x 0.8″ and weighs in at 2.8 pounds

According to HP, the new Chromebok 11 release date is set to October 5th in the US and will set you back $280  and up.

HP Chromebook 14

HP’s Chromebook 14 has as its name implies 14-inch display with Full HD screen, but the product page says a 1366 x 768 pixel display (might be offering different options). For storage the device has 16GB, and an NVIDIA Tegra K1 processor taking care of the graphics. The Chromebook 14 will be offered with 2GB or 4GB of RAM.

The laptop measures 13.5″ x 9.5″ x 0.7″ and weighs 3.8 pounds.  The model also fanless machine as well as thinner than the other model

The Chromebook 14 also has connectivity suits that include 802.11ac WiFi, optional mobile broadband, USB 3.0, 2 USB 2.0 ports, HDMI output, and a headphone jack.

HP is expected to release the new Chromebook 14 on October 22nd  and price starts $300.
