Lenovo Y70 Touch Gaming Notebook, Erazer X315 Desktop announced; Specs and Price in tow

Gaming notebook means full of power thus heavy and bulky. But that is not always true at least for the Lenovo’s new gaming laptop and yea that is becoming a trend now. The laptop is named Lenovo Y70 Touch , the company has just announced it ahead of IFA 2014.

The laptop with a huge 17-inch screen is impressively thin and light while offering aesthetic design and red backlit keyboard. And there is a subwoofer with JBL speakers tucked on the bottom. The device weighs in 7.5 pounds that is certainly light for that class.

Internally, the notebook is powered by a quad-core Haswell-series Core i7 processor couple with up to 16GB of RAM and NVIDIA GTX graphics offering 4GB 860M GPU. Lenovo Y70 Touch can be bought either with a 256 SSD or a 1TB hybrid hard drive with 8GB of cache.

However, the display of the laptop is not that impressive to a gaming device. The laptop sports a 1,920 x 1,080 resolution touchscreen, while many gaming systems offering 3,200 x 1,800 or 2,560 x 1,440 resolution displays. And powering all these components is a battery which is promised to last up to 5 hours at a charge, so make sure you travel around with a power bank or charger. The system also offers connectivity features like a pair of USB 3.0s, one USB 2.0, HDMI, Ethernet, a memory-card reader, headphone/mic jacks, and a lock slot.

The Lenovo Y50 Touch release date is scheduled for October and pricing starts at 1,299. But that doesn’t mean you are going to customize but rather there will be many pre-configured models.

Lenovo has also announced a low-end gaming desktop dubbed Erazer X315. The computer is a more affordable one with an AMD Kaveri A10-7850K processor, a 2GB R9 260 GPU, up to 12GB of RAM and up to 2TB of storage offering 8GB of cache. The Erazer X315 is expected to be available in November.
