At the Apple event alongside the new iPad Apple has also launched latest addition to its desktop All-in-One computer iMac. The new iMac boasts 5K display and just like on iPad and iPhone, the new iMac boasts Retina display.

Apple’s new iMac should be the first All–in-One desktop to feature high-resolution 5K Retina display. The device is promised to give more crisp while viewing images and videos. Apple says, with a 5,120 x 2,880 pixel display, the new iMac offers 7 times more pixels than a 1080p television, and 67 percent more pixels than you’d get on a 4K ultra HD display. The new iMac boasts a whopping 14.7 million pixels.

The iMac also uses new LED backlight  and is more power efficient than before, which Apple says needs only 30% less energy.

In terms of specs, base model iMac features  a 3.5 GHz Intel Core i5 quad-core processor and AMD Radeon R9 M290X graphics. New iMac offers 45 percent faster performance than earlier generation iMac computers and also faster i/o thanks to Thunderbolt 2. And a 1TB Fusion Drive is fitted as standard.

The new iMac can also be customized with a 4 GHz Intel Core i7 processor and AMD Radeon R9 M290X processor.

The new iMac is priced from $2499 and Apple pointed out that 4K displays often sell for more money than that.
