Motorola DROID Turbo for Verizon announced; Specs and Price
As expected, Verizon and Motorola have together announced the Droid Turbo, most anticipated next gen DROID smartphone. The smartphone running on the Verizon XLTE network sports a 5.2″ Super AMOLED QHD display with a whopping pixel density of 565ppi.
In terms of specs, Droid Turbo is built around by a Snapdragon 805 chipset with a 2.7GHz quad-core Krait 450 CPU, 3GB of RAM and an Adreno 420 GPU. The device is comping with impressive battery life with 3,900mAh. According to Motorola it can last up to 48 hours of mixed usage.
The phone is also promised to be quite durable and resistant to torturing. It’s made either of ballistic nylon or metalized glass fiber reinforced with DuPont kevlar. The display is protected with layer of Gorilla Glass 3 while the internals are covered with water-repellent nanocoating for further protection. If that is not enough , there is a one-time cracked screen replacement offer.
At the back lies a 21MP snapper with a f/2.0 aperture and 4K video recording at 24fps. As the latest in the DROID series, the Droid Turbo has features like Moto Display, Actions, and Assist.
The Droid Turbo measures 73.3 x 143.5 x 8.3mm (at its thinnest), while the Metalized fiber one is a bit thinner at 7.8mm.
The DROID Turbo will ship with KitKat, though an Android 5.0 Lollipop update is expected in the next few months.
The Motorola Droid Turbo release date is set to October 30. The smartphone with 32GB internal storage will be offered in Metallic Black, Metallic Red, and Black Ballistic Nylon for a price of $199.99 with new two year contract or $25 per month on Verizon Edge plan while 64GB Black Ballistic Nylon model can be bought for $249.99 with two year contract or $27 per month on Verizon Edge.
