Microsoft releases Windows 10 90-Day trial Version

Windows 10 90-Day Trial Release

Microsoft launched its most anticipated OS Windows 10 yesterday. Jumping on the bandwagon 14 million people or so have already installed Windows 10. As expected, the update from Windows 7  or Windows 8 / 8.1 to Windows 10 is completely free, yea make sure you have genuine OS on your system.

However, there are those who use earlier version of the OS or Linux and wanted to test the new Windows 10. Good news is that the company has launched a 90-day trial version of the OS. Yes you get 3 month of use of Windows 10 for free and then you can decide if  it is for you or not.

As you would imagine there are certainly drawbacks here. The edition the company offers with 3-month trial period is not consumer edition of the OS but Enterprise. So what? Well, This means many apps that come with Windows 10 Home or Pro version will not be available. The apps you’ll be missing include Mail, People, Calendar, Photos, and even Cortana.

Oddly you won’t even get Windows App Store, therefore you will have to go old-fashion at least for three months.

it is because Windows 10 Enterprise is not meant for usual consumers. The edition is specially designed for it corporate customers. However, you can still taste the new changes in Windows 10 starting from Start Button and floating Windows and desktop apps.

There are couple of ways to run the trial version of the OS in case you don’t want to clean-install before testing it. You can run Windows 10 trial alongside Windows 7 and 8. First is to create a separate partition on your hard drive, and installing the trail there by enabling option to boot into either OS. Second is to install the OS on Virtual Machine. You can use Oracle VirtualBox for this. To learn more about installation,  watch the videos below.
