Microsoft has finally announced the successor to its popular Surface Pro 3 at its NYC  event today. The new device is called the Surface Pro 4 and comes with Windows 10 onboard. The Surface Pro 4 is thinner, lighter, and more powerful, while also offering a larger display than its predecessor.

The new Surface Pro 4 is  powered by Intel’s 6th generation Skylake processors  and sports PixelSense 12.3-inch display and its compatible with existing keyboard accessories, despite the fact that new Surface Pro keyboard comes with many improvements and features. The display has 267 PPI and its the highest resolution display found on a Surface tablet yet.

The device also boasts all-new Surface Pen that has an eraser on its other end. The new pen is 1,024 level pressure sensitive and it attaches to the side of Surface Pro 4. Interestingly it even has Cortana integration and you can activate the Microsoft voice assistant by holding the button on the pen. The pen is available in five colors, with interchangeable pen tips, depending on your purpose.

The device also has a new ‘hybrid cooling system’ for keeping the device cool and a fingerprint sensor for fast login. And the new keyboard features scissor keys like Apple’s new MacBook making it easier to type. It will also be available in five colors.

Microsoft didn’t forget to brag about its new Surface Pro. The company says this is the “thinnest, most powerful” Intel Core PC ever shipped. To make that possible the company has tweaked multiple aspects of the tablet such as 0.4mm-thick Gorilla Glass 4 and the company has even developed a G5 chipset.

Microsoft Surface Pro is claimed to be 50 percent faster and has 1TB of storage. The device can be fitted with up to 16GB of RAM.  There is a new Surface dock that allows you to attach the device to a workstation and features four USB 3.0 ports, two 4K display ports and Ethernet over a single USB port.

Microsoft Surface Pro is available for pre-order and price starts at $899. Release date of the tablet is set to 26th of October.
