Toshiba launches 12-inch dynaPad with Wacom TruePen; full specs in tow

Toshiba dynaPad with Wacom Pen of 2048 pressure sensitivity
Recently Microsoft announced its Surface Pro 4 with digitizer that has 1,024 levels of pressure sensitivity, first of its kind but not last. Yea today Toshiba is taking on Surface Pro with its new 2-in-1 Windows “laptab” and boasts Wacom Active Electrostatics TruePen with up to 2,048 levels of pressure sensitivity.

Microsoft Surface Pro is a powerful device but for an artist Toshiba dynaPad may be the best option as its Wacom digitizer has staggering level of pressure sensitivity.

In terms of specs, Toshiba dynaPad packs an Intel Atom Cherry Trail processor, 4GB of RAM, 64GB of storage, 802.11ac WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, a microSD card slot, micro HDMI port, and two micro USB ports. However,  take the details with a pinch of salt as its spec sheet also indicates the tablet has an Atom x5-Z8300 processor which only supports up to 2GB of RAM.

The dynaPad has a 1920 x 1280 pixel IPS display which features a dual-layer coat of anti-reflection and anti-fingerprint material. The device weighs about 1.25 pounds sans keyboard while it weighs about 2.2 pounds with keyboard.

Toshiba dynaPad is up for pre-order in Japan starting today, but US and European customers will have to wait till someday in the first quarter of 2016. When the tablet hits outside Japan, it may carry its international branding like “Satellite”. The device is priced at 151,200 yen that is about $1200 USD.
