NVIDIA SHIELD Tablet K1 to get Android 6.0 Marshmallow Update soon

NIVIDIA introduced its first K1 tablet a while ago in hope to gain a portion of Android market share  and was well welcomed by the Android community. NVIDIA was being a good member of the community by offering constant updates but didn’t last long and it seems that the company is trying hard to gain its title of being a nice guy in the bunch. The company is now teasing forthcoming update for its latest SHIELD Tablet K1, making its first non-Nexus device to get Android 6.0 Marshmallow update.

NVIDIA  SHIELD Tablet K1  is powered by same Tegra K1 CPU inside and unlike its previous version,  the device lacks the stylus. The tablet has 16GB of storage and microSD card slot to further expand the capacity. For connectivity, this version only has WiFi a/b/g/n and Bluetooth,  and no LTE support. And gamers has access to NVIDIA’s GeForce NOW cloud gaming service but hey the free subscription will only last 3 months then you will need to pay $7.99 per month.

With the Android Marshmallow update, the users of this tablet will get a new app launcher, a new camera app, and Google Now on Tap as well as unified storage feature. Moreover, users will get the same gaming experience. The company seems to be trying to offer best of both Android experience and NVIDIA backed mobile and PC gaming all in single handheld.

The final piece of the info to be available is the release date of Android 6.0 Marshmallow update for the device and the company is also mum on the subject. but we would assume very sooner than later.
