Sony Alpha A68 Release Date and Price for the US and Canada revealed

Sony announced the entry-level Alpha A68 DSLR back in November for Europe but release date for the US and Canada was a mystery. Sony has finally revealed the release data of Alpha A68 for the US and Canada. For beginners in photography, this is something to rejoice.

In terms of specs, Sony Alpha A68 has 24 MP APS-C sensor and is the latest in line to receive Sony’s A-mount lenses. However, the celebrated feature on the new DSLR is what the company calls 4D autofocusing which is claimed to offer fast, accurate tracking. The 4D focus system was first introduced on Alpha A77 II, and the feature gives the camera high-speed AF performance in a wide range of shooting conditions, even in extreme low-light.

The camera is capable of continuous autofocus tracking up to 8fps, thanks to the new translucent mirror, along with the 79 AF points. The camera with APS-C Exmor CMOS sensor can reach an ISO range of 100 to 25,600 and records videos in Full HD (1080p). The camera also offers Sony’s SteadyShot Inside thus the stabilization and reduced camera shake with all 34 A-mount lenses.

On the back of the camera is a hybrid electronic OLED viewfinder, along with a 2.7-inch TFT LCD screen that can be tilted anywhere from 135 degrees upwards to 55 degrees down. And you can also see the same control wheel you find on Alpha A7 series that lets you have a quick access  to settings adjustments as well as the option to assign frequently used functions to 10 customizable buttons.

According to Sony, Alpha A68 DSLR will be available in both the US and Canada from April, thiugh the company didn’t give exact release date. In the US Sony body-only Alpha A68 interchangeable lens camera will be sold for $600 or you can have a kit along with the DT 18-55mm F3.5-5.6 SAM II lens for about $700. In Canada, $800 body only and the kit for $950 CAD.
