Asus launched its its ZenFone Zoom back in CES 2015 and customers in the US haven’t had their opportunity to get their hands on the device. Finally the company is bringing its smartphone with 3X optical zoom lens to the US.
The most celebrated feature of the smartphone is its rear camera with a 10-element HOYA lens and a 13MP image sensor. And the company brags Asus ZenFone Zoom is the thinnest phone, at 0.48-inch to feature an optical zoom.
The ZenFone Zoom has round corners and its back slightly resembles Lumia 1020, with a circle around the camera. The device looks premium with metal body and aluminum frame around the device. Unlike many modern devices, the ZenFone Zoom has the usual capacitive keys immediate below the display.
The smartphone is definitely high-end when it comes to specs too. The device is powered by Intel Atom Z3590 processor coupled with 4GB of RAM. It sports 5.5 inch, 1920 x 1080 pixel IPS display with Corning Gorilla Glass 4, 5MP front-facing camera and 64GB or 128GB of storage plus a microSD card slot for up to 128GB external storage.

ZenFone Zoom runs on Android 5.x with Asus ZenUI and packs 3,000 mAh battery.
Despite the fact ASUS is pretty newcomer to smartphone arena, the company made a huge splash with its ZenFone 2 which was one of the first phone to pack 4GB of RAM and with the ZenFone Zoom, the company is aiming at photography enthusiasts.
The smartphone is priced at $399 and release date is set in February 2016.
