Dell launches 2016 Latitude 13, 12, & 14 7000 Series with Skylake Processors; Specs and Price
Dell is going Skylake for all of its 2016 Latitude 7000 Series model laptops and bring many enhancements and features. The new models include 12.5 inch, 13.3 inch, and 14 inch models and pricing starts at $1299. The Latitude 7000 series business class notebooks with powerful specs under the hood that range from M7 to Core i7 Skylake processors.
The Latitude 13 7000 offers either a 1920 x 1080 pixel non-touch display or a 3200 x 1800 pixel touschreen display and packs up to an Intel Core M7 Skylake processor, up to 512GB of solid state storage, and Thunderbolt 3 (USB Type-C) connectivity.
Design-wise, this model follows Dell’s XPS 13 line and features Inifinity Edge display with super-thin bezels. The laptop has a backlit keyboard and boasts of a carbon fiber or CNC machine aluminum casing.
The new Dell Latitude 13 7000 Series s compact laptop with less than 2.5 pounds of weight and 0.6 inches thick. In the series this might be the least powerful but if you need more power inside you may got for its other members with support up to Core i7 Skylake processors.
Dell Latitude 12 7000 Series and Latitude 14 7000 Series
The Latitude 12 7000 Series and Latitude 14 7000 Series are 12 and 14-inch laptops for those who need more horsepower inside.
Each model comes with up to 512GB of solid state storage, up to 16GB of RAM (with two SODIMM slots for DDR4 2133 MHz memory), and will be available with a choice of a 37 Whr or 55 Whr battery.
The Latitude 12 7000 notebook will be offered with either 1366 x 768 pixels and 1920 x 1080 pixel non-touchscreen displays, or a 1080p touchscreen display, while the Latitude 14 7000 will be available with 1366, x 768 pixel, 1600 x 900 pixel, or 1920 x 1080 pixel non-touch displays, or a 2560 x 1440 pixel touchscreen display.
The Latitude 12 and 14 7000 Series come with a slew of ports nd other connectivity features including Gigabit Ethernet, 802.11ac WiFi, Bluetooth 4.1, three USB 3.0 ports, and HDMI port. There is also optional backlit keyboards, fingerprint and smart card readers and WiGig.
The Dell Latitude 12 7000 measures 12.2″ x 8.5″ x 0.7″ and weighs about 2.8 pounds while the Latitude 14-inch laptop measures 13.2″ x 9.1″ x 0.8″ and weighs about 3.3 pounds.
For an average user with usual tasks, the Latitude 12 should work fine while 13 and 14-inch models will be the best options for those who do a lot of tasks simultaneously or use apps which may require more power and memory. All three models are available for purchase and pricing starts at $1299
