Leaked Promo Video reveals the OnePlus 3; release expected in the Summer of 2016

Leaked Promo Video reveals the OnePlus 3

OnePlus has already grabbed a moderate Android market share ever since it launched its first smartphone and OnePlus 2 has been around for a while with the same viral marketing and modest product configuration at an affordable price tag. And now it seems that the company is almost set to launch its next-gen OnePlus Android smartphone dubbed OnePlus 3.

This is the first time the phone has appeared on a video and gives a glimpse at the design as well as a bits of extra information.

Design-wise the OnePlus 3 looks sturdy with a slick metal frame, and front slightly resembles some of the HTC One series. Both original and the OnePlus 2 came with the signature sandstone back making it instantly recognizable from other devices out there and now it seems that it has been replaced with brushed metal back.

The video also shows a dual-tone LED flash  and seemingly Type-C port instead of the usual microUSB port, which was expected.

Other alleged specs include a 5.5-inch 1080p display (with QHD also a possibility), a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 SoC and two memory options – 4GB of RAM pus 16GB of storage or a whopping 5GB of RAM and 64GB of storage (although the latter RAM seems too odd and won’t likely come to pass).

The OnePlus 3 should also have a 13MP main shooter and a 5MP selfie one. With such a powerful specs under the hood, it is also expected to carry beefy battery, possibly to 3,500 mAh.

Anyway, release date for the device is not yet available but rumors suggest a release date somewhere in the summer of 2016.
