2019 Aston Martin DBS Superleggera, 715hp Super GT official; Specs and Price Details
Aston Martin has taken the wraps off its latest “Super GT flagship,” the bad boy 2019 DBS Superleggera. The new model was revealed at an event in London, and replaces the Vanquish S, and turns everything we’ve already seen in the DB11 up to 12.
It is a resurrection of the DBS name from the history books. The lightweight grand tourer couples it with the storied Superleggera badge.
Aston’s latest flagship, the DBS Superleggera is built around a 5.2-litre twin-turbo V12, and comes with a starting price of $305,000.
The 5.2-litre twin-turbo V12 offers rotational forces equivalent to 664 ft-lbs, which channeled through an eight-speed ZF automatic. It will accelerate the car from 0 to 100 km/h in about 6.4 seconds and delivers top speed of 211 mph.
According to the company, it is not just drag racer, 50-100 mph comes in 4.2 seconds, the DBS Superleggera then would be already in fourth gear, apparently.
The new model has taken some design inspiration from F1 racers. The curlicue and Aeroblade are joined by a double-diffuser, as a result, you get 397 pounds of downforce at VMAX. The car offers three dynamic drive mode, GT, Sport, and Sport Plus – to adjust its temperament.
The new Superleggera has 21-inch wheels with 410 mm carbon ceramic brake discs on the front and 360 mm on the rear.
Inside, leather and Alcantara come standard cladding the Sports Plus performance seats and steering wheel. An 8 inch infotainment system is surrounded by Dark chrome and piano black trim. There are also an Aston Martin premium audio system, navigation, and climate control. As a 2 + 2, there’s room in the back for smaller passengers as well.
According to Aston Martin, the 2019 DBS Superleggera will begin deliveries from Q4 of 2018.
