Lenovo Thunderbolt 3 Graphics Dock is an External GPU with GTX 1050; pricing $400
Lenovo announced its thunderbolt graphics dock back at CES 2018. The dock is now available for purchase and costs $400.
The external graphics dock is designed to boost the performance of an average laptop without discreet graphics card, especially latest thin models with thunderbolt port. If you have already purchased such machine, this is the dock you may definitely need.
Lenovo Thunderbolt 3 Graphics Dock features discreet GTX 1050 graphics processor. The dock is powered by a 170W AC adapter and it is capable of providing up to 65W of power.
According to Lenovo, the dock is coming with support for Windows Mixed Reality at 90Hz and can connect your notebook via Type-C port USB cable. The device is also coming with several ports including two USB 3.0, one USB 2.0 to connect additional peripherals and storage devices to your machine.
The dock supports up to 3 three displays via via an HDMI 2.0 port or two DisplayPort 1.3 interfaces. Apart from all these features, the dock also features a Gigabit Ethernet port and a headphone-out/mic-in audio combo jack.
It would be great if the dock actually came with even more powerful graphics unit, but for PCs that really lack graphics performance, this is definitely a great blessing.
