Sony Xperia XA2 Plus is a Mid-end Android Phone With OmniPresence Design and Snapdragon 630

Sony Xperia XA2 Plus is a Mid-end Android Phone

Phones with notch and bezel-less display and motorized camera are the trend, but none of them is in any way making Sony jump on the bandwagon nor does it feel the urge to do so. Sony has launched its new addition to its smartphone portfolio and this time it is a mid-ranger called Sony eXperia  XA2 Plus. As the name suggests it is bigger than its siblings Sony Xperia XA2 and Sony Xperia XA2 Ultra  and first in the series to come with an 18:9 ratio.

At least, this time the model is coming with even thinner bezel unlike its other two XA series. The mode sports Sony’s new OmniPresence design with metallic back panel which gives the device better look and feel. The phone will be available in four colors – Black, Silver, Gold, and Green.

In terms of specs, the phone has 6-inch Full HD+ display protected by Gorilla Glass 5. Under the hood, there is a Snapdragon 630 chipset with an octa-core CPU at 2.2 GHz and an Adreno 508 GPU. The XA2 Plus will be offered with either 4 GB or 6 Gigabytes of RAM and 32 or 64 Gigabytes of storage, thanks to the microSD card slot, you are not stuck with just internal storage.

Many of you may not even want to know what is under the hood and maybe thinking of what kind of picture it can capture. Well, the phone has 23 MP snapper with Exmor RS sensor, 84-degree wide-angle lens and f/2.0 aperture. It supports ISO 12,800 and shoots videos in 4K, but also has 120 fps slow-motion recording.

Selfie department has a single 8 Megapixel 1/4” Exmor R sensor with a 120-degree super wide-angle lens. There are plenty of features many selfie enthusiasts may love including Bokeh Mode, Soft Skin, and some other face-altering effects.

The phone measures 157 x 75 x 9.6 mm and weighs in at 205 grams which is a bit heavier.

Other features include USB-C charging port, noise-canceling mic and a speaker at the bottom of the phone while there is a 3.5 mm jack on the top of the device.

The Xperia XA2 Plus gets its juice from a 3580 Milliamp hour battery with Quick Charge 3.0 support.

Sony will ship the phone starting August while its price is still a mystery, but considering current trend in the market, the phone should carry an attractive price tag.
