Cyberpunk 2077 Attracts Over 13 Millions Sales Despite All The Bugs And Refunds | Hotfix 1.06 Is Out For Consoles And PC

Finally the most awaited game is out, the Cyberpunk 2077. Cyberpunk has been one of the most hyped open world game of the decade. Since the announcement of the game back in 2013, world of gamers had been waiting for the release of the game.

The game talks about our distant future, based on a city called NightCity, a megalopolis obsessed with power, glamour and body modification.

Despite all the odds and criticism CDProjekt Red has sold over 13 million copies of the game even with all the refunds, from its launch Dec 10th through Dec 20th.

The 13 million figure is actually “sold through,” means copies actually bought by gamers, across all platforms. That number “factor[s] in returns submitted by retail clients in brick-and-mortar as well as digital storefronts,” as well as “all refund requests e-mailed directly to the Company.”

CDProjekt Red has guaranteed a full refund for any copy of Cyberpunk 2077,. due to performance breaking issues on PS4 and Xbox One. The game has been more stable on PC and newer consoles (PlayStation 4 Pro or Xbox One X and up).

The company has also released several bug fixes since the release for all the platforms. Now patch 1.06 is out for PC, and consoles which is expected to fix major glitches and performance issues on all the platforms. Since the release, there has already been 5 updates including 1.06. The company is expected to release several patches through January 2021 which should make the game more stable and glitch-free.

Hotfix 1.06, Here is the full list of changes:

Quests

  • Dum Dum will no longer go missing from Totentanz entrance during Second Conflict.

Console-specific

  • Improved memory management and stability, resulting in fewer crashes.

PC-specific

  • Removed the 8 MB save file size limit. Note: this won’t fix save files corrupted before the update.

Playing the game on a decent PC, despite bugs and some graphics glitches, all the main quests and story lines are well developed and enjoyable. The immersion and the sound effects as you engage on some quests can hit hard on your heart and increase the heartbeat.

We should not lose the hope on a company which released its first buggy open world game Witcher, which later became one of the best Open World Games after bug fix updates. The Cyberpunk 2077 with its immersive megalopolis and the people in it is definitely giving us a glimpse into our future and the possibilities in the next gen single player gaming.
